Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati
Gerard M. Stegmaier is an attorney in Washington, D.C., where he
manages the firm’s D.C. privacy and information governance practice. He
litigates on behalf of clients concerning public and private corporate
governance, intellectual property, and Internet issues, especially as
they relate to privacy, information security, and consumer protection.
Much of Gerry's practice also involves pre-litigation and risk
management counseling relating to privacy, data protection,
intellectual property, and emerging technologies and markets. He serves
as an adjunct member of the law faculty at George Mason University
School of Law, where he created and teaches one of the first law
courses in the country focused on privacy and information governance.
The International Association of Privacy Professionals has designated
Gerry as a Certified Information Privacy Professional.
